Our camp season ended this morning and it was very emotional. It's never easy to say goodbye to your camp friends. To help our community members through this first night at home we thought we'd present the final weekly wrap up video of the year. Know that we miss you all and can't wait to see you this fall and winter at our many camper reunions!
I have to hand it to our campers and counselors: they have been using every single minute available to have the greatest time possible with their camp friends before the end of the summer.
With both Color Wars over, our campers are suddenly confronted with the realization that this incredible 7 week overnight camp experience is about to come to a end...at least for this year. All morning long the staff and I have been helping some of our campers process their feelings about how much they are going to miss their camp friends, our activities, their favorite counselors, and what every day life is like here.
We woke up this morning with Evergreen, our girls camp, having completed their Color War, and Kenwood in the final day of its tournament. Our girls woke up late and came to breakfast at a leisurely pace in their pajamas.
We are now in day #2 of our Summer 2016 Color War. In both Kenwood and Evergreen our campers have been playing their hardest, and nowhere has this been more evident than in our games of Capture the Flag.
What an incredible 6th week of the summer! It started with a drive-in movie, and then included Hollowpallooza, Carnival, the Inter/Junior Play, Plaque and Skit Night, a fire breathing dragon eating a car, and, of course, the start of Color War! Take a look at all of the fun we had this week!
Here are our overnight camp in NH, our campers have many opportunities to participate in artistic endeavors. We have different studios for ceramics, photography, furniture building, dance, cooking, traditional arts and crafts, and film making. We also have a rock band music studio, and an annual music festival that took place just this past weekend.
Each week of the summer I create a video highlight reel of some of my favorite moments from the past 7 days. This coming Friday I was going to use the footage that I shot at our annual music festival called Hollowpallooza, but frankly there was just too much to include the rest of what we are going to do this week. With that said I hope you enjoy this 4 minute video of Saturday's amazing special event.
