This was quite a 4th week of the summer here at camp. In the midst of some pretty amazing weather we had our annual event called Big Weekend, both camps had their big softball tournaments, there were tons of canoe and mountain climbs, Adventure Dave led some outdoor adventures, the biggest Polar Swims in our history, and tons and tons of great activities! Make sure to check it all out in this week's wrap up video below:
Today was a great day in our overnight camp for trips, outdoor adventures, tournaments and music. Just after reveille woke us up Kenwood's 15 and Under Tri-State Softball team began its march through our campus. Stopping at each bunk area they did warm ups, sang their psych-up song, and put on a short demonstration for the younger campers.
We began this fourth Monday of the summer with all sorts of camp spirit since today was Evergreen's Tri-State Softball tournament. For over 60 years we have hosted this special event and it's a major milestone in the summer for our Senior girls.
Last night, we did our typical Friday night rituals and traditions. We had our Friday night service, then the whole camp gathered in the tent to watch the weekly wrap up video and two movies made by campers in our film department. Then I surprised the kids by saying that I had one more thing to show...
We had an amazing 3rd week of the summer. It began with Spirit Day and Cartoon Mania, and was then followed by some pretty fantastic day trips, overnight hikes, tournaments, and great times on campus. Click below to watch so many of the best moments of this past week at our overnight camp in NH!
When I'm giving tours during the summer one of the most common questions that I get asked is so what do you do at camp when it rains? At a lot of other camps they watch movies or sit in their bunks and wait for the clouds to pass. Not at K&E. This is one of those questions we LOVE to answer because we do amazing things, and whenever possible, we play outside in the rain!
We woke up this morning to some delightful news. Spokin, the food allergy app, had profiled us on their website in a list of "Top Food Allergy-Friendly Overnight Camps". For a very long time we have been proud to be the summer home for boys and girls allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, mustard, dairy, eggs, citrus, mustard, and more! Click on the image below to see what they said. And thanks to Spokin for recognizing our efforts to keep our friends with food allergies safe!
While our weekdays are filled with almost 40 different fun sports, arts, waterfront and outdoor adventure activities, our weekends are all about special events that bring our brother sister camps together. This morning when our campers woke up and left the cabins they saw counselors all over the property dressed up as different famous cartoon characters.

What a second week of the summer! Special events like Gold Rush and Ultimate Capture the Flag, day trips, sports tournaments, mountain climbs, leaps off of waterfalls, Nancy Tucker, Fireworks, and the rest of our incredible 4th of July traditions. Watch so many of the best moments of this past week!
Just before noon today Adventure Dave stopped by and said to me "can every day be like this one?" I think we all had the sentiment today. The weather was gorgeous, the kids were in great moods, the food was awesome and it was just one those perfect camp days that you hope for.
Today was the 4th of July which meant it was a day of some of our favorite traditions and rituals. Lots of campers and counselors arrived at morning assembly wearing their most patriotic gear. After singing happy birthday to our friend Maddy, we raised the flag and said the Pledge of Allegiance.
I'm often asked by prospective parents "so do K&E campers go on any trips?" Do they ever! This summer we have more than 75 day and overnight trips on our calendar, and we'll likely add a few more before our 7 week camp experience is over.
Sunday’s are really nice days here at Camp. This morning we all slept late and had a nice relaxing start. The weather was gorgeous and after a few rainy days the entire community was excited to see some spectacular weather.
Starting our second week of the summer we let everyone sleep a little bit later to recharged their batteries. After a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, bacon and homemade corn muffins we headed back to the bunk for a big cleanup.
