After 7 glorious weeks our Summer 2017 camp season ended this morning. It was very emotional for all of us. It's just never easy to say goodbye to your camp friends, especially after 7 incredible weeks of living together, playing together, and having so many unforgettable moments together.
We know how many parents have been patiently waiting to see the video from this year's Junior Camper musical "Grease", and we are excited to say that it is here. The entire cast and crew did an incredible job, and we are just so proud of this production. We hope that you enjoy it!
With Color War completed in both camps today we went back to regular life here at our summer camp in NH. Just after breakfast the Kenwood Seniors left on their final trip of the summer, enjoying the area around Dartmouth College and Hanover, NH. Scott joined them in the evening for dinner and a movie, and a great time was had by all.
On Monday our Evergreen Color War known as Green and Gold came to an end, and last night it was the same for Kenwood's Maroon and Grey. It was a pretty special Color War, both in terms of how well our campers played, and how kind our boys were with one another both on and off the field.
Yesterday was our final day of our girls' Color War, known as Green and Gold. Over 4 days of playing their hardest in everything we do here -- basketball, tennis, archery, softball, soccer, swimming, hockey, track and field, spelling bee, debate -- both teams had really created an event to remember. Going into Song and Cheer, the scores were close. Very close.
Yesterday was our third day of Color War, and there was a lot going on. Evergreen began the morning with its Track Meet, and Kenwood had its Swim Meet. In the afternoon Evergreen had its Swim Meet and Kenwood played hockey, baseball, soccer, ultimate, basketball and tennis, and also had its Apache Relay. Tonight both teams had Rope Burning and Evergreen also had its Apache. You can see highlights from all of these exciting events in our Holly Gaudet's Color War Day #3 video!
If you liked last night's video wrap up of the first day of Color War I think you'll really like what we have for you today. Our resident film maker/teacher Holly Gaudet has made another terrific highlight reel from our Maroon and Grey/Green and Gold activities!
After last night's amazing Color War break out this morning our campers were up and ready to play their hearts out in activities. Here's a quick video recap of the day's highlights:
As a summer camp we really like pushing the envelope with our special events, especially when it comes to Color War breakouts. We're always on the lookout for new and creative ways to start our annual end-of-summer sports tournament. Phyllis has been planning this year's break out for almost 2 years now and it did not disappoint. In fact, I think tonight rivaled the craziness and excitement of last year's Megasaurus breakout.
We woke up to another warm summer morning here at Camp. As we stood at morning assembly we marveled at the dozens and dozens of beautiful butterflies that fluttered around the flagpole and landed on our pink and purple flowers. Just like yesterday's visit from the geese, it was a lovely way to start a summer day here in New Hampshire.
Today was an absolutely gorgeous August day at our summer camp in NH. As we left our cabins to head to breakfast we were treated to a family of Canada Geese frolicking on the lake, putting on quite a show. As they honked and flapped their wings they sent the water flying, and seemed to be having a spectacular time doing it. I stood with a group of campers and marveled at how wonderful it was to share a moment like this together at the start of yet another day at Camp.
