We are excited to announce the dates and locations for our two fall off-season Camp events. Both parties are not just for returning campers. If your child has signed up for their 1st summer at K&E, or is even THINKING about joining us this summer, this event is for them!!
We are thrilled to announced that it's almost time to register for the 18th annual Senior Camper Winter Weekend!
In the last couple of blogs I've written about so many of the great aspects of our recent Camp Alumni Reunion. Like seeing former campers and counselors of the last 7 decades reconnect with one another, or meeting and becoming fast friends. Or meeting our future K&E campers. Or the special events we held, like Jell-O Wrestling (for kids) and Rope Burning (for adults). Or how much fun it is regardless of your age to stand around a campfire and make s'mores. And, of course, the many ways that we celebrated Phyllis' 66 amazing summers at K&E.
Our post-Camp Alumni Reunion was about celebrating all things in the Kenwood and Evergreen community, but most importantly, it was a chance to tell our friend Phyllis Dank how much we love her. Phyllis started here as a camper at the age of 6, and has spent 66 glorious summers as everything including counselor, unit leader, head counselor and co-director.
Last December longtime Kenwood camper Ryan Levine was named by the City of Cleveland as its "Person of the Month". Ryan took it upon himself to create an event called the Kids Film It Festival. It was a chance for young auteurs to get some exposure for their movies, and at the same time it raised over $30,000 to help find a cure for Parkinsons Disease.
For the majority of our campers today was the first day back to school after the incredible Summer of 2017. Here in the Camp Office we are really missing our campers and counselors, and were looking for something to cheer us up.
