We are a sleepaway camp community that loves being together, both during the summer and throughout the school year.
Last weekend we came together for our annual camp reunion in the Boston and Rhode Island area. Campers, counselors, members of our leadership team, and even some of our amazing dining hall staff came together for a snowy night of fun with camp friends.
As he always does, Scott Brody, Owner/Director of Kenwood and Evergreen, was there at the entrance with a big smile and a hug, eager to welcome everyone. Then we gathered as a camp family to watch a preview of our Summer 2017 Video Yearbook, which contains highlights of some of our favorite moments from this past summer. When that concluded we spent the rest of the night playing indoor soccer, touch football, basketball, swimming, and just having a great time with our camp friends. Finally, we all got together for a delicious dinner that was peanut and tree nut free (and offered gluten free alternatives as well).
Events like this are really important in our sleep away camp community, because the friendships our campers and counselors form with each other become so crucial in their lives. Spending 7 weeks together each summer, we become more like family, and we really miss one another when we don't see each other for weeks or months. It's why Kenwood and Evergreen has so many off-season events throughout the fall, winter and spring!
Coming up in just a few weeks will be our annual Winter Weekend up at our campus in New Hampshire, and then in late January will be our biggest Camp Reunion of the year (at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT). Then in February will be our Reunion in Florida, and our parties designed just for new campers and parents in May!
