Just days after our campers and counselors returned home we hosted the biggest Alumni Reunion in our summer camp's history. People traveled from all over the globe for a chance to feel like a K&E camper once again. From Friday to Sunday we offered some of our favorite activities -- a softball game on Senior Hill, climbing on the ropes course, water skiing on the lake, rope burning, Jell-O wrestling, making projects in arts and crafts, tennis and basketball games on the courts, and so much more.
Throughout each day of the reunion we laughed and played and just loved being together. I loved seeing how easily former campers and counselors of different eras were able to bond with one another. I also got a huge thrill out of seeing how quickly the children of our former campers were able understand what camp was all about, and make lasting friendships.
Just like during the summer, our days were filled with fantastic meals cooked by Chef Arnaldo and his team, including a seemingly endless supply of cookies made by Kristy.
Each night we gathered at the campfire area for singing, games, storytelling, and of course, lots and lots of s'mores.
With over 300 people in attendance, we actually had former campers from all but the first decade camp was founded. This means we covered from the 1940's all the way up to the present day! We can't wait for the next Alumni Reunion, and hope that our campers and counselors remain an active part of this community throughout their lives!
Here are some photos from this incredible weekend of fun and camp friendship!
We love that Camp friendships are forever in our community, and that so many alumni would take time out of their busy lives to spend a weekend up at Camp. Current Campers and Staff, please take note: you have amazing reunions like this to look forward to for decades to come!
