In the last couple of blogs I've written about so many of the great aspects of our recent Camp Alumni Reunion. Like seeing former campers and counselors of the last 7 decades reconnect with one another, or meeting and becoming fast friends. Or meeting our future K&E campers. Or the special events we held, like Jell-O Wrestling (for kids) and Rope Burning (for adults). Or how much fun it is regardless of your age to stand around a campfire and make s'mores. And, of course, the many ways that we celebrated Phyllis' 66 amazing summers at K&E.
On this Valentine’s Day we wanted to take a moment to send our love to every member of our extended Camp family.
Are you going to be in Florida for February vacation?
If so, come join us for our first-ever Florida Camp reunion.
Saturday, January 28th
Chelsea Piers Stamford, Stamford, CT
5:00pm - 7:30pm
We had a blast at the Boston and Rhode Island area Camp Reunion this past Saturday, and now are looking forward to our next one in Stamford, CT on Jan. 28. We will be running Camp activities, including gymnastics, indoor soccer, touch football, and a variety of other events, as well as premiering our 2016 video year book! There will also be a room full of trampolines, a foam pit to leap in, and a climbing wall!!
It was so much fun getting the Camp community together this Saturday for our annual Boston and Rhode Island area Camp reunion. Campers and counselors came from as far as NY, NJ and NH to hang out with their camp friends and celebrate the fabulous summer of 2016!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow which means that the Boston and Rhode Island area Summer 2016 Camp Reunion is just about the corner!
As I mentioned earlier in the week, much of the Camp Office team was recently in Beijing. We went to see our returning campers and host a camp reunion, but we were also in China to take part in the 2nd China Camp Education Conference as guest speakers.
As I wrote about in Friday's blog, we have begun our fall season of amazing camp reunions. Two weeks ago more than 100 campers and counselors gathered for an evening of playing at the House of Sports in Ardsley, NY, and just last week a group of us held the third annual Camps Kenwood and Evergreen Reunion in Beijing, China.
Fall is here which means that we have started our season of Camp reunions. Two weeks ago we held our first post-summer gathering at the House of Sports in Ardsley, NY. Dozens of veteran campers from NY, NJ and CT joined us for an evening of gaga, basketball, art projects, kickball and hanging out with camp friends. Counselors from all over the Tri-State area (and a few from the UK) took time out of their busy lives to come spend time with their campers.
In just under a month our overnight camp in NH is about to begin its 86th season! And in that time we've created some pretty cool relics and regalia. One of Scott's pastimes is finding treasures from Kenwood and Evergreen's past that pop up on places like Ebay. Just last week he found this beautiful postcard that neither of us had ever seen before! All these years later our campers and counselors still enjoy this view of Mt. Kearsarge every day of the summer.
As I wrote in Monday's blog, January seems to be a time when our brother-sister summer camp community has reunions big and small. This coming Saturday we will be hosting a massive camp reunion at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT from 5:00-7:00pm, and two weeks ago over 100 campers and counselors joined us for a weekend in the snow up at our campus in NH. There was also a huge camp counselor gathering in UK last week, and a smaller one in Ireland. K&E camp friends get together all over the world!
It's almost time for our annual camp reunion in the NY, NJ, CT and PA area. We invite any child (and parents) who was a camper at our sleepway camp in NH in 2015. This special event will be in the same location as last year, though at an earlier time.
We wanted to send out a quick remidner that it's almost time for our annual camp reunion in the Boston and Rhode Island area. We invite any child (and parent) who was a camper at our sleepway camp in NH in 2015. This year we are moving this special event to a new time and location:

We had an amazing time this weekend at our annual Tri-State Area Camp Reunion. This was our first year bringing everyone together at the Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT, and by all accounts the new location was a major hit! Our new venue had tons of fun things to do with camp friends, including playing indoor soccer and basketball, bouncing in a room filled with trampolines, practicing hitting in the batting cages, rock climbing, and tumbling into a massive pit of foam blocks.
It’s February, which means that it’s time for our annual camp reunion in the Tri-State area. With our campus in New Hampshire we travel throughout the off-season to host reunions where our campers live, including NYC, Boston, and New Jersey. This year we are moving our February event to a new location – Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT. This Saturday, February 7th more than 300 campers, counselors, parents and alumni will be gathering with us to spend time with their camp friends. We’ll be playing indoor soccer, hitting in the batting cages, tumbling in the gymnastics area, and so much more! We’ll also be watching a preview of the Summer 2014 Camp Video Yearbook. At full length it is a 45-minute recap of all of the incredible moments that we shared together last summer. Towards the end of the event we’ll gather together to for a light dinner and to celebrate our many friends who have birthdays this and next week. Because of our commitment to being an allergy-friendly summer camp everything we serve will be peanut and tree nut free, and we’ll offer gluten free, dairy free and egg free alternatives at this event.

Since the New Year we have been inundated with pictures and stories at Camp friends seeing each other over the last few weeks. Some of these gatherings were planned, while others were purely accidental. There were sleepovers, birthday parties, mini-reunions, and even trips to other countries! We love how much our Camp community loves being together, and how so many Camp friendships span years and even decades of time!
Where to begin...?
In our first batch of photos, sent to us by campers and counselors, we had a sleepover after the Camp reunion in Boston; cousins hanging out together on the beach; a vacation to Michigan to visit a long-time close camp friend; a big sleepover in the Boston area; two former campers hanging out with their counselors from YEARS ago (including one who flew in from the UK); a reunion of Kenwood campers playing Gaga in NYC; and a massive, multi-family trip to Mexico that included current Camp parents, alumni from the 70's, 80's and more recent era, one of our fabulous Camp nurses, and a whole lot of Kenwood and Evergreen campers Yes, everyone on the trip was related to each other, but they still had more than a dozen members of our NH summer camp community on the trip, and we think that's just awesome!
It was wonderful seeing so many of our camp friends this past Saturday. Almost 100 campers, staff and parents joined us for our annual camp reunion at the Longfellow Sports Club in Natick, MA! Many of our campers and staff had not seen each other since our closing day of the summer, and you could see how happy everyone was to be together. While most at the reunion live locally, a number of campers and staff traveled from New York, New Jersey, and even Georgia!
New Camp Clothing Company
I wanted to share with you some of the latest news from the Camp office. Today we are thrilled to announce that we have started a new relationship with a camp clothing camp called Everything Summer Camp. We are very excited about the many new products that they will be able to offer our Camp families, and their impressive infrastructure for providing top-notch quality service. They have actually been designated as a Google Trusted Store, which means that they have gone through a rigorous certification process (similar to what we go through as an American Camp Association accredited camp). Amazingly, they will be offering our camp families a delivery time of 2 weeks from the date that an order is purchased!
An Update On The Camp Reunion
This past weekend about 250 members of our Camp Community got together for our annual reunion in NJ. Campers, Parents and Staff from the Tri-State Area, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts braved the cold and snow to spend a few hours with their camp friends at a NY Sports Club. We played basketball, soccer and hockey, went swimming, ate pizza, and just enjoyed our time together. Ours is a community that really enjoys being with one another.
