We woke up this morning to the first reveille of the summer, and Scott's announcement "everybody up...it's going to be a BEAUTIFUL day today. Rise and shine!" And a beautiful day it most certainly was.
It was the first day of Camp and we had a LOT going on. In fact, before dinner we had offered more than 30 different fun and exciting activities at our brother sister summer camp. Sports, Arts, Water Fun, Outdoor Adventure -- this day had it all! Here's what we had going on during this first full camp day of the summer:
I remember arriving at our beautiful sleep away summer camp in NH over 4 years ago. I rode up from Boston on the bus with 3 other new camp counselors who were also seeing the K&E campus for the first time. Other than a few photos I had seen from the website I had no idea what to expect. I was nervous and shy in a new environment with unfamiliar surroundings and people. Looking back, what I felt that day was probably a lot like how most new campers feel on the opening day of the summer.
It seems that just about every new camper and parent has concerns about homesickness. Would you like to see and hear how some of our most talented camp counselors not only help our campers through it, but leave them feeling more resilient and more confident?
To truly understand a summer camp community you need to know its camp counselors, so we want to introduce you to some of ours!
