Tonight was the fourth Anything Can Happen Thursday of the summer, and we decided to go all out with this meal. Our Chef team spent all week learning new recipes while Diego and the Support Staff came up with fun new ways to decorate the dining hall.
Today was a great day in our overnight camp for trips, outdoor adventures, tournaments and music. Just after reveille woke us up Kenwood's 15 and Under Tri-State Softball team began its march through our campus. Stopping at each bunk area they did warm ups, sang their psych-up song, and put on a short demonstration for the younger campers.
We began this fourth Monday of the summer with all sorts of camp spirit since today was Evergreen's Tri-State Softball tournament. For over 60 years we have hosted this special event and it's a major milestone in the summer for our Senior girls.
With an amazing visiting day for parents behind us this morning we woke up and got back to the basics of summer camp. Our counselors went to bed at the same time as our campers so everyone woke up this morning happy and rested, and thrilled to be here for 3 more incredible weeks.
Almost every age group was in camp today, which meant that this was a day of our campers playing sports, making beautiful creations in arts, and having tons of fun at the waterfront and on the ropes course.
When prospective families visit they often ask "do your campers go on trips?" and "do your kids have traveling tournament teams?" My answer is always an emphatic oh yes we do go on some amazing day and overnight trips...and we've got a ton of tournament teams!
I woke up with lyrics to the Gershwin song in my head: Summertime...and the living is easy...And it was pretty fitting, since today was just a lovely, relaxing, beautiful day of summer camp.
Our very happy campers and counselors woke up to bright sunshine and clear blue skies. People seemed rest and refreshed after a good night's sleep. Friends walked and skipped together to breakfast, ready for another incredible day here at our overnight camp in NH.
Another Day Of Amazing Tournaments and Trips at Our Brother-Sister Summer Camp in NH
We had a lot of tournaments and trips going on today. Evergreen's Juniper girls were having fun up in Maine on a white water rafting trip. Just after breakfast Evergreen's Freshmen departed for their Pemi River Canoe trip. They fortunately have incredible weather tonight for their camping trip. With no clouds in the sky they appear to have a blanket of stars overhead. Evergreen's 11's, 13's and 15's tennis teams were also traveling today, as were Kenwood's 10's Tennis and 12's Basketball.
